I've got 320 kbps set yet MP3s that are at that or less are being transcoded. Why? Has anyone figured out how to prevent this?

I get pauses too but it's just a few seconds. In your case perhaps it's transcoding and your server is just too slow or busy doing other things? I think mine might be network but it's pretty random.
