Not really, but Amazon released a while ago a new feature allowing Wake on LAN support from Alexa's. We aren't sure whether we can apply this to My Media, however it's on our list to investigate.

This is already supported. Just create another watch folder over the sub-folder that is the root of the folders you want to form your playlist. Then edit the Label to be the playlist name you want.

Then you can use Alexa, ask My Media to play my xxxxx playlist where xxxx is the label name.

Sounds like My Media can’t stream data quickly enough to your Alexa. This usually happens when transcoding on an underpowered computer.

So it’s the URI encoding that is breaking it. My understanding of the spec is that filename in playlist files should be plain file names not URI encoded ones.

That said we could look at falling back to find a uri encoded path if finding the plain text one failed.

Currently, on all OS types, the way to upgrade is to reinstall using the same installation instructions that you used to install.
