Playlists just stop playing at random

Post by sandman1976 »

Hi all,

My playlists just stop playing at random, not during a track, its always at the end of a track then silence, but if i say "Alexa, Next" it moves on and plays again.
I have checked i dont have any blank mp3 files but all seems in order, any ideas?

Thanks :)

Sounds like My Media can’t stream data quickly enough to your Alexa. This usually happens when transcoding on an underpowered computer.

Can we check:

1 are these all mp3 files?
2 do you have the “Enable Replay Gain” setting switched on?

Thanks

"Enable Replay Gain" only shows up when you click Enable Transcoding on the Settings tab. The reason we asked is because we wanted to know whether it was a transcoding only issue or not; i.e. we were not recommending you enable 'Replain Gain' in order to solve this, was just a diagnostic step.

Hi bizmodeller ,

I am experiencing the same issues lately and I don't know what is going wrong (mainly because I did some infrastructure changes).
Since last month I migrated my server from a Raspberry PI to a dedicated Ubuntu Server VM under Proxmox (4th gen I5 CPU). In addition, the music files are now stored on an external HDD connected via a passed-through USB. On top of this I am now using a Ubiquity USG as router.

I am experiencing this issue on all my Alexa devices (different types) and also on other Alexa devices that are using my server in a shared way.
I am not using transcoding and changing from push to port forward did not helped.

The only errors that I am able to find are the MyMedia logs
06/01/2021 07:26:51.443 712:0 5981 PushClient.cs:Ws_OnMessage:237 Received message: {"DeviceID":"amzn1.ask.device.HEX_PRIVATE_ID","PlaylistID":"54e2534b-2293-4bfa-9eb3-b100d56dbd22","MediaItemID":"88647a69-df70-4338-9637-683ea434c579","MediaPlaylistItemID":"51cd2eed-01d8-4528-aab4-27caa6336e85","Offset":0,"ErrorCode":"","ErrorMessage":"","NotifyType":0,"MessageType":9,"Locale":"en-US","TransactionID":"a1f27c2e-4b0a-4a04-b543-42d55490f8d1"}

Please advise.

Thanks,
