Echo 1st gen will not resume after overnight pause

I have a Tap (actually 3) that never lose their place in the 500 tracks selected or album when I "ask MyMedia to play XXX music". I can let it sit for days and it will 'resume' exactly where it was paused.
However, my classic Echo 1st gen audio-only device (10" tall with the diameter of a Dot) will not 'resume' MyMedia after being on pause, or stop, overnight. Is there some way to fix this. It is damn annoying!
