Can someone please tell me the need for more than one server. i am the only one that will be using my media.

Then you are unlikely to need more than one server. Multiple servers are if you have multiple PCs (eg a Windows machine and a Mac machine) each with its own media that you will want to play media from. If you only have a single computer, then you only would have a single My Media server.
