"Fuzzy search" when asking to play/read a track

Post by moon »

Another thing that would make My Media even better is some sort of fuzzy search ...

What I mean is, if I have a track with a very long title (e.g. often the case with audiobooks), it would be cool if I could say part of the title and if there is no other match, My Media knows what to play

Example:

Title: Thought Yoga - A manual to stretching your mind (Unabridged)

Obviously, I'd like to just say:
"Alexa, ask my media to read "Thought Yoga"
. But I currently have to Memorize the entire title (or create a playlist with the name Thought Yoga and add the Audiobook to this, but this is not ideal and too manual)

If there are more titles starting with "Thought Yoga", Alexa could respond something along the lines of "There are multiple titles That match 'Thought Yoga'. Please be more specific."

My Media already uses a fuzzy search algorithm. We might try to loosen this up a bit further however doing so may lead to worse prediction accuracy. We'll have a look and revert

Hey, thanks for letting me know!

I just tested it again and it seems to work just fine and exactly as I wished. I'm not sure why it did not work earlier. Hmm...

I'll post again here if I have issues again and can reproduce it.
