How to create playlists with MyMedia, Alexa and Pi

Post by dougt »

Hi, I don't want to leave my PC on all the time and so I have bought a Raspberry Pi to use solely as the music server. I have loaded all my CDs into the Music folder on the Pi. It seems to work reasonably well. I am learning the commands and sometimes they work and sometimes not. I can't find out how to create playlists on the Raspberry Pi system. I am not very computer literate but so far I really like how I can use the Pi as a music server with my several echo dots. I am sure things will get better but I do need help.

There are two choices for playlists on Raspberry Pis:

1. Create your playlist files manually (or using a playlist editor) and ensure the playlist files are within one of your Watch Folders. My Media will then index them and show them on the playlists tab.

2. Manually create your playlists through the My Media Web Console:
- click the Playlists tab
- create 'Create Playlist'
- give it a name
- go to Songs or Artists or Albums, and select the tracks you want to add to the playlist
