My Media consists of two components - a server daemon that runs in the backgrounds and a web User Interface that you can use to manage your My Media server

The server daemon is always running in the background - it installs as a Windows service on Windows computers and as a daemon on Mac/Linux machines. It starts up as soon as the computer boots (or within 5 or so minutes). You don't need to login to your computer or open the My Media app for it to start.

The My Media Web UI is opened in a browser. When you install My Media, we create a shortcut to this web UI in the Start menu on WIndows or the Launchpad on Mac computers. So you can click this link to access the Web UI ion the computer where you installed My Media.

However, you can always access the Web UI from other computers on your home network.

Just open a browser on another computer, tablet or phone and enter the following URL:

http://[ip_address_of_mymedia_server]:52051

substituting [ip_address_of_mymedia_server] for the IP address of the computer running My Media. You can find this in the Settings tab of the My Media web interface under the Listening IP address section:

eg http://10.0.0.10:52051">http://10.0.0.10:52051

Then you can access the Web Console from anywhere:

Excellent! That's exactly what I wanted to do, and it works great.
