As my iHomeServer support has recently lapsed (version 18.104.22.168), I've just looked at buying extended support. There are three options to select from on the purchase page, a new V3 licence, an upgrade from V2 to V3, or extended V3 support. The price for extended support is the same as for a new licence! The V2-V3 upgrade with extended support is much cheaper. This doesn't make sense - is it an error ?
Once a support subscription has elapsed then iHomeServer costs the same as for new users. We do however provide significant discounts for multi-year support if purchased up front.
If that's the case, why have a separate option for extending V3 support on the order page?
Most users renew their subscription whilst they are still in their support/upgrade subscription period. In this case, if they use the option to extend support on our website then you will be asked to enter your existing serial number so we can set the extension to start after the existing support period runs out. Additionally we may from time to time provide discounts for purchasing additional support decoupled from promotions for new users.
